to Alton Reflexology - situated in North Hampshire, we have clients from Alton, Farnham, Winchester, Odiham and Woking Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers on these reflex areas. Stimulating these reflexes properly may help many health problems in a natural way by correcting any imbalances in the body. Reflexology allows the body to enter into a deep state of relaxation which allows the body to stimulate its own healing properties. Its long term application is also a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with foot massage. Many health insurance policies cover reflexology.
My Background I qualified with a level 3 diploma from the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR) in London and am a member of the Association of Reflexologists (MAR). This promotes the professional standards of reflexology to the highest level. Whilst the profession is self regulated, you can be confident that when you see the initials IIR and MAR that the practitioner is professionally qualified, adhering to a strict code of conduct, holds a first aid qualification and is fully insured.
I also have specialist skills and am qualified to give reflexology treatments specifically in relation to fertility, maternity and back pain, and have had notable successes in these areas. In the last year I have added further new skills in Ayurvedic Reflexology. This is a unique and amazing fusion of Ayurvedic foot massage and Reflexology which balances the mind, body and spirit. Recently, I have completed training to aid anxiety and depression through specific mindfullness reflexology techniques, which has great benefits for mind and soul.
With 30 years experience of practicing as a Registered Nurse with a specialisation in orthopaedics spent working in NHS and private hospitals in London, Surrey and Hampshire I trained as a reflexologist to compliment my nursing background. This has come from an interest in complementary healthcare working alongside conventional medicine. I am committed to further developing and enhancing my reflexology skills adding additional training in specialist areas. It’s just such a fascinating complementary therapy!
